Previously confirmed for North America and Europe, Shoot ‘Em Up Vasara Collection will also be released in Japan for Nintendo Switch.

The vertically scrolling arcade shooters Vasara and Vasara 2 were originally released in early 00s by Visco Corporation and are now being ported to the current generation of consoles by its new publishers.

São Paulo, Brazil, February 27, 2019 – QUByte Interactive is pleased to announce it has partnered with Chorus Worldwide for the distribution of Shoot ’Em Up Vasara Collection for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One in Japan.

Back in March, 2018 QUByte Interactive announced the company had acquired development and publishing rights to Vasara.

Formerly exclusive to Japanese Arcades, QUByte is developing a collection of the two original Vasara games, with exclusive new content, for Switch, PS4, PSVita, Xbox One, PC and Mac in early 2019 as ‘Vasara Collection’.

Science Fiction meets History in these arcade classics which take place in an alternate timeline Feudal Japan where technologically advanced weaponry and equipment are a reality, and heroes use flying motorcycles with amazing firepower and fierce melee weapons to destroy their enemies.

Editor’s Note

While it’s fantastic news that a physical release has been announced for multiple platforms, it is still not clear whether it will be available here in Europe, or if it will be limited to other regions. Let’s hope for the best, but be prepared to import. This will probably be a very worthwhile collection for all shooting game fans.
